Others come to me for help because they want to use legal and dental services. "Throughout the week many of the guests come to me to talk about their problems and ask for advice. "Because the majority of the this community does not speak English, I interpret for them and let them know about everything that is done at the Mission," Ivan Bracamontes says. Spanish Ministries provides Spanish speaking men support and assistance as they work through the challenges of living in a foreign land. Men and women often face life in the states alone, thousands of miles from their support network of family and friends. Finding a job or getting help with issues like addictions can seem impossible.

The language barrier makes it difficult for Spanish speakers to find emergency help when they need it. The Mission provides services in Spanish to help the fastest growing population in the United States: individuals coming from throughout Latin America, looking for better wages, hope and a new future for their family. When our program participants graduate, we encourage our community to celebrate with them. While recovering at Hope Place, they attend a daily community meeting, a Bible study on grace, and meet regularly with a case manager who helps them make additional steps toward wholeness in every area of their lives. New Life Fellowship program (NLF) is a long-term, residential program based upon extending God’s love and grace in a safe and healing environment for complete transformation.

Women who are able to care for themselves may stay for 1 to 3 months, or longer if they choose to enter our addiction recovery program. Our women’s program at Hope Place offers Extended Care to women coming out of the hospital after surgery or illness. They receive peace of mind, spiritual support, case management, and exposure to a community of men being transformed by God's love. The Extended Care floor at our downtown Men's Shelter enables men with severe medical issues-including recovery from an accident, illness, or operation-a safe, warm place to stay for 6 months up to a year as they regain their health. We help men and women move beyond medical barriers by providing extended medical recovery care. With public funding for medical rehabilitation services disappearing, the opportunities for months of intentional recovery care are fading. Healing from accidents or operations can complicate the process of recovery from addiction and homelessness.
